MAQ Number Plate: Quetta, Balochistan

MAQ is a Balochistan-wide registration series issued to motorcycles. It is not tied to any one city, so the plate alone does not tell you where in Balochistan the vehicle was registered.

How to verify a vehicle with MAQ plates

  1. Open the Balochistan Excise vehicle verification service.
  2. Enter the registration number as printed.
  3. Confirm owner and vehicle particulars with the registration documents.
  4. If the online record is missing, the Quetta Motor Registration Wing can confirm it in person.

Before buying, check that the engine and chassis numbers in the Excise record match the numbers stamped on the vehicle, and that the token is paid up to 2026-27. Unpaid tokens usually have to be cleared before a transfer goes through.

Transferring MAQ vehicles: what the new owner pays

For a three-year-old 125cc motorcycle, a filer pays about Rs 2,500 in 2026-27 and a non-filer Rs 2,500.

How Balochistan numbers its plates

Balochistan car plates carry two or three letters and three digits with the provincial emblem between them; motorcycles use four digits. Excise Balochistan's number plate checker covers 15 districts. A personalised plate scheme was launched in June 2026.
